On completion of CBT, you will obtain a DL 196 certificate validating a provisional moped or provisional motorcycle entitlement lasts for two years - CBT will have to be retaken if both theory and practical tests are not passed within the two year certificate life. Compulsary Basic Training CBT is a course of compulsory basic motorcycle training which must be completed before a learner moped or motorcycle rider is allowed to ride unaccompanied on the road with L-plates (D-plates in Wales). The theory test consists of two parts. Part one is multiple choice. The test consists of 50 questions in 57 minutes. The passmark is 43. A question and several answer options will appear onscreen and you have to select the correct answer to the question by touching the screen. Some questions may require more than one answer Part two is a hazard perception test. It is also delivered on a computer but you respond by clicking a button on the mouse. You'll be presented with a series of video clips which feature every day road scenes. In each clip there'll be at least one developing hazard, but one of the car/motorcycle clips will feature two developing hazards. There are 14 clips. Score is based on each clip.
